Sea Drift
Sea Drift is a coastal retreat on the south coast of England designed by Brian Hoolahan. Positioned directly above the shoreline with uninterrupted sea views, the home balances a traditional New England charm with a refined, contemporary sensibility.
The Brief
The clients wanted a light-filled seaside home that embraced its setting — open, calm, and connected to the horizon. Durability was essential, with the marine environment demanding careful material selection and detailing to withstand salt, wind, and sun exposure.

The Challenge
All products were adapted for marine conditions — featuring stainless steel hardware, marine-grade hinges, and a robust meranti hardwood frame, chosen for its strength and superior resistance to coastal weathering.
The exterior’s crisp white-painted finish reinforces the home’s bright, coastal aesthetic, while the 6m three-panel Vantage Classic sliding door forms the centrepiece of the living space. Its wide central opening connects directly to the terrace and courtyard, creating an effortless indoor-outdoor flow framed by sea and sky.

The Outcome
The result is a tranquil, resilient beach house defined by light, proportion, and material honesty. The combination of natural durability and architectural simplicity captures the timeless ease of coastal living — a home built to breathe with the sea breeze and glow with the changing light.
