The Still House

A serene family retreat in the heart of the capital, uniting quiet luxury with Passiv performance.

  • Architect: Julian Loeffler Architects
  • Photography: Thibault de Schepper
  • Product: Invisio Internal Doors and Vantage Classic Passive Historical Replica Entrance Door

The Brief

This Victorian townhouse was transformed into a tranquil, energy-efficient home for a young family. The project required doors that could deliver Passivhaus-level insulation and performance while preserving the property’s period character. Internally, the design intent was to achieve an entirely flush, minimalist aesthetic in harmony with the clay plaster finishes and oak detailing.

The Challenge

Ecovia supplied two bespoke systems. The external Vantage Classic door was designed as a Passiv-certified unit, replicating the original façade’s traditional form while meeting modern performance standards — a demanding balance between technical innovation and heritage integrity.

Inside, Invisio internal doors were finished in ClayWorks plaster on one side and oak on the other, allowing them to sit perfectly flush within the architecture. Each door incorporated concealed hinges, magnetic locks, descending acoustic seals, and Tectus invisible hardware. Achieving this seamless finish while meeting fire and acoustic regulations required absolute precision and craftsmanship.

The Outcome

The Still House is a masterclass in quiet refinement. Every detail — from the tactile oak frames to the invisible hardware — contributes to an atmosphere of calm and composure. It is a project that demonstrates Ecovia’s capacity to merge innovation, heritage, and serenity in perfect balance.
